Angela Merkel to receive the Fulbright Prize

The Fulbright Association is pleased to announce that it will award the 2018 J. William Fulbright Prize for International Understanding to Dr. Angela Merkel, Federal Chancellor of Germany. With this award, the Fulbright Association honors Chancellor Merkel for her remarkable, compassionate leadership and her strong commitment to mutual understanding, international cooperation, and peace.

The Fulbright Association believes that Chancellor Merkel embodies the best of leadership in times of unrelenting global crises and challenges. The Association is pleased to honor her as they have Nelson Mandela, Jimmy Carter, Corazon Aquino, Mary Robinson, Bill and Melinda Gates, and other Fulbright Prize Laureates.

Angela Merkel will receive the award in a ceremony which will take place on Monday evening, January 28, 2019 in Berlin. For the first time in the award’s 25-year history, the Fulbright Association will host this event outside of the United States.

Just a question: will there be a recording of the live stream of the Award ceremony? The German Fulbright Alumni chapter had send a wrong URL page https://fulbright.org/2018-prize-ceremony/ , so I was unable to watch it waiting for the video to start. In the meantime the live stream was broadcasted directly from the homepage. Thanks ahead and kind regards.
