2018 Annual Conference: Schedule

We are happy to announce the upcoming 2018 annual conference’s schedule. Two Preconference Workshops are scheduled for Thursday, November 1st. The cost of attending either workshop is included in the full conference fee. Both workshops are being graciously hosted by Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP). Please note you have to register to attend these workshops.

Thursday, November 1

8:00am-8:30am Bus transportation to UPAEP for Workshop attendees from Convention Center
9:00am-4:30pm Chapter Management Workshop - This day long workshop will focus on alumni chapter management and programming. The afternoon will bring together member board officers of U.S. chapters along with Mexican and other international alumni to exchange ideas and best practices about forming/managing an alumni chapter, programming, promotion and outreach, and building partnerships. Please note this is only for Chapter board members, and is not open to all conference attendees.
9:00am-3:15pm Fulbright Program Advisers Workshop - In collaboration with COMEXUS-Fulbright and the U.S. State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), the annual Fulbright Association conference will include a pre-conference workshop for U.S. campus Fulbright Program Advisors (FPA).  The full day agenda will include morning visits to local English Teaching Assistant (ETA) placement sites in Puebla where FPAs will interact with current ETA grantees in Mexico. The afternoon will be designed for sharing best practices and will include a panel of Mexican representatives from COMEXUS staff and its Board, Education U.S.A., and local university/organizational sponsors of Fulbright grantees to discuss topics such as selection processes, in-country orientation, health and safety, and preparing for re-entry. Lora Seery, IIE’s Outreach and Recruitment Manager for the U.S. Student Fulbright Program, will co-lead this pre-conference workshop. Please note this is only for Fulbright Program Advisers. Not open to all conference attendees.
