Connecting Hearts and Minds for Global Change

The schedule for the Fulbright Association’s 42nd annual conference explores public diplomacy, showcases the research, work, and talents of Fulbright alumni and friends of international education, and mobilizes the Fulbright community through an Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill. Conference events will take place from October 24 to 26, with post-conference workshops taking place on Sunday, October 27.

Thursday, October 24

  • Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill. Begins with breakfast briefing at 8:00 am then followed by scheduled visits all day.
  • Opening Reception hosted by Marymount University and co-sponsored by the Hungarian Fulbright Commission and the American Hungarian Heritage House. The reception will take place at Marymount University's Ballston Campus.


Friday, October 25

  • Opening Plenary on Public Diplomacy
  • Concurrent Sessions
  • Fulbright Advisor Workshop - Scholar Program
  • Individual Career Counseling Sessions for Young Professionals
  • Poster Fair
  • Career Fair
  • Reception at the Ambassador of Poland's residence, marking the 60th anniversary of the US/Polish Fulbright Program


Saturday, October 26

  • FA Member Business Meeting
  • Fulbright Talks TEDx style (Plenary)
  • Concurrent sessions
  • Research Roundtable Discussions
  • Selma Jeanne Cohen Dance Lecture (Plenary)
  • Awards Celebration and Ceremony: featuring the Lifetime Achievement Awards and Chapter Awards


Sunday, October 27

  • Chapter Leadership Workshop (open to current Chapter board members only)
  • Optional tour: African American Museum
