The Maine Chapter of the Fulbright Association presents a two part evening:
Film screening at Michael Klahr Center, UMA Campus:
University of Maine, Augusta is home to the Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine. We will begin by showing the film by the widely respected Maine sculptor, Robert Katz, Were the House Still Standing: Maine Survivors and Liberators Remember the Holocaust, with a discussion led by Katz afterward.
Fulbright Alumni Dinner and Post-Dinner Talk at Fireplace Lounge, Richard Randall Student Center, UMA Campus:
Our post-dinner talk is on building community through teaching the graphic novel. Presented by Fulbright alum Professor Lisa Botshon,”Wham, Bang, Pow: Teaching Comics Collaboratively” is a shining example of making connections with art and literature. Professor Botshon will be teaching this material on her Fulbright exchange next year in Lisbon, Portugal. The Maine Chapter will cover admission fees for Fulbright Association members. Guest pricing is available upon request.
