Dr. Jay Nathan is a Professor of International Business and Strategy at St. John’s University, New York City; past-president of the Global Awareness Society International, honorary professor of the New Mongol Institute of Technology (NMIT), Mongolia; and honorary professor of Karaganda University of Economics, Kazakhstan; and editor of the online Journal of Global Awareness.
He holds MBA and PhD from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. He serves as a PhD advisor for the Eurasian National University, and to Al-Farabi National University, Kazakhstan. His recent book, Kazakhstan’s New Economy, Nomads and Eagle Hunters meet Technology and Management, distributed by the University of Chicago Press; in addition, serves as a visiting professor of National University of Mongolia.
A Fulbright Scholar to Thailand, Poland, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Hungary, and presently a tenured full-professor at St. John’s University, and was previously a tenured professor at the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania. His academic career began after several years working for multinational corporations in corporate strategy and planning, forecasting and total quality management. Dr. Nathan is the author/co-author of several books. He has published over 100 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and other academic publications.
His Fulbright experiences have taught him to engage with countries and cultures, and so, he has established an endowed Visiting Scholar Lecture Series at the University of Scranton, where each year, an ambassador gives a keynote lecture and show case his/her country’s culture, the arts, and music. Dr. Nathan has also established another endowment, at the Keystone College, Pennsylvania, devoted to a Cultural Immersion Program, where first-time visiting scholars to the United States experience American culture, life-style, and interact with local communities and events.
He sees the world as one large-campus, and humbled by the capacity of humans to improve the lives of others.
