Dolores Rinke

Former Board Member

Dolores Rinke is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), and an IRS Enrolled Agent with a Masters of Business Administration and a doctoral degree in accounting. She is a Professor Emerita at Purdue University where she taught financial and international accounting. She has taught or presented her scholarly work in Europe, Asia, and Africa. She has been active in Purdue’s Study Abroad Program serving as both instructor and faculty/student advisor in the Oxford/Cambridge Program. Prior to her tenure at Purdue, she chaired the Business Administration Department at Lewis University.

Dr. Rinke is very active with the Fulbright Program. She is a three-time Fulbright Scholar. Her first grant took her to Hungary where she taught financial accounting. She was also instrumental in implementing an accountancy program and securing funding from the large accounting firms for continuation of the program. A few years later, she was awarded a second Fulbright Scholar grant, this time to assist Hungary in preparing for entrance to the European Union. Later she returned as a Fulbright Senior Specialist to assist with the transition of their higher education system. Most recently, she visited Hacettepe University as a Senior Scholar, where she conducted research and taught classes on International Financial Reporting (IFRS) and corporate governance. She also presented the keynote speech at the Turkish Finance Society’s annual meeting. She continues to participate in Fulbright activities and served as Treasurer and chair of the Finance/Audit Committee of the Fulbright Association from 2000-2006, and then as a peer reviewer for the Senior Specialist Program She continues to be active with the Chicago Chapter and is again Treasurer of the Board of Directors.

Her previous background includes work with General Motors Corporation, the University of Michigan, Chicago World Trade Organization, KPMG, and USAID. Professor Rinke has also served as an expert witness in international litigation and worked as a consultant with KPMG as part of the Capital Development Project, establishing the audit profession for the country of Latvia.
