The Fulbright Association will be marking its 40th Anniversary by gathering our community for our annual conference, “Fulbright: Now More Than Ever,” from November 4 – 7, 2017 in Washington, D.C.
Registration is now open for the 2017 Fulbright Association Conference! Attendees will hear from extraordinary speakers, engage in provocative panels, and benefit from extensive networking opportunities. Our conference venue is in the heart of Washington, D.C., with easy access to the downtown area and the National Mall. With a variety of opportunities to connect with fellow Fulbright alumni, share and discuss scholarly research, and build relationships within the international education community, our conference is a highlight for the hundreds of participants who join us each year — and we hope you will be among them in November! Early bird registration rates are available through August 15.Advocacy for the Fulbright Program and its continued funding is vital to the Fulbright Association mission, and this year, we have added a new component to our conference program: a Fulbright Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill on November 7. Conference attendees will have the exciting opportunity to speak with members of Congress about their Fulbright experience alongside dedicated volunteers, board members, and Fulbright Association staff. All Advocacy Day participants will receive valuable professional development training on effective messaging strategies, and will learn more about the federal budget process and funding of international exchange programs. Sharing your Fulbright story with members of Congress is a meaningful experience, and we look forward to rounding out our conference with a productive day on the Hill! If you would like to join us on November 7, please indicate your interest on the conference registration form. Please note that Advocacy Day volunteers must attend the training session on November 6, and must be registered for the conference for both Monday and Tuesday. All members and prospective members of the Fulbright Association are welcome to submit proposals highlighting their current academic and/or professional research in any field, or reflecting upon their Fulbright experience. Additional consideration will be given to proposals that resulted from a Fulbright grant. The application window for conference panel sessions, roundtable discussions, and poster presentations is now closed. Selected applicants will be notified in mid-August. The Selma Jeanne Cohen Fund for International Scholarship on Dance enables a dance scholar to present a major paper on previously unpublished research in the field and lead a dance demonstration at the Fulbright Association conference. Strong applicants will illustrate the impact of their Fulbright or other international exchange experience on work in the field of dance, as well as how their dance research relates to international perspectives. The application window for the Selma Jeanne Cohen Lecture is now closed. The selected applicant will be notified by mid-August.Follow the links below to register for the conference or to or to submit a proposal to present at the 40th annual Fulbright Association conference.
