2024 1946 Society Member of the Year
1946 Society Member Greg Cooper honored Panarat at the October 2024 1946 Society Luncheon with the following text:
As a former National Capital Area chapter leader, it is a privilege to honor a current NCAC chapter leader whose unwavering commitment to education, leadership, and global peace has shaped the Fulbright Association community. I am pleased to recognize Dr. Panarat Rohleder as the 1946 Society Member of the Year.
Panarat believes in pursuing peace through education, a guiding principle that has defined her career and service. Her work reflects a deep dedication to empowering others, whether through her leadership within the Fulbright Association, her role as a faculty member at Washington Adventist University, or her inspiring work as the founder and president of Role Models Foundation Worldwide. Through her foundation, she has provided vital educational support to students across the globe, nurturing future leaders who, like her, believe in the transformative power of education.
Furthermore, her academic research—focused on leadership and the advancement of women in business—exemplifies her commitment to creating more inclusive, forward-thinking spaces.
As a member of the NCAC Board of Directors, Panarat has plays an instrumental role in organizing key initiatives, including the recent Women in Leadership event, which elevate the Association’s visibility and provide enriching experiences for its members.
Panarat joined the 1946 Society in 2023 as a friend of Fulbright, expressing her long-term commitment to the Fulbright Association and acknowledging the Society’s pivotal role in shaping the organization’s future through both thought leadership and financial support. About the Association, she wrote: “I have enjoyed interacting and networking with others who share common interests in education, culture, and languages. I feel that the Fulbright alumni community is warm, friendly, welcoming, and well-educated.”
Dr. Rohleder, your work has enriched our community, and your vision for a peaceful, educated world continues to inspire us. On behalf of the 1946 Society, it is my great honor to recognize you as a 2024 Member of the Year.
Panarat’s Biography
Dr. Panarat Rohleder serves on the Board of Directors for the Fulbright Association’s National Capital Area Chapter. As a board leader, she has organized, supported, and participated in a variety of chapter events, including Fulbright in the Classroom, Fulbright Program advocacy, book talks, and coffee chats. She also played a key role in supporting the chapter’s recent Women in Leadership event, forging partnerships with Pembroke College, Oxford University, and the University Club of DC.
Currently, Panarat is an adjunct MBA faculty member at Washington Adventist University, and she has taught at the university level for ten years. As the Founder and President of the nonprofit organization Role Models Foundation Worldwide, she leads efforts to support the education of students who serve as role models in their field of study and in society worldwide. Additionally, she serves as Executive Director for Organizational Development & Leadership Consulting.
Panarat’s educational accomplishments are vast, including certifications, a bachelor’s degree, multiple master’s degrees, and a doctoral degree, which earned her induction into the prestigious Bouchet Honor Society. Her leadership skills have been recognized through awards such as the Outstanding Leadership Award and the Visionaries Leadership Award from Education 2.0. She has also been honored with a volunteerism award at the National Cathedral.
