Bring Global Understanding to K-through-College Students

Fulbright in the Classroom (FIC) is an education outreach program that offers Fulbrighters the unique opportunity to connect with K-through-College students through classroom visits, virtually or in person.

Ready to begin?

Sign up. Register for your Fulbright in the Classroom experience by filling out this interest form.

Choose a location. Some FIC participants choose to visit a local school in their neighborhood, a university or college in their state, or their alma mater. The choice is up to you! If you require assistance in locating a school to visit, please let us know in your response to the interest form.

Connect with your classroom contact. Once you have a school in mind, contact a teacher, professor, or school administrator using this email template to arrange the details of your visit.

Prepare your presentation. Gather your presentation materials (photos, videos, physical souvenirs, PowerPoint slides), brainstorm games and activities, and get ready to share your Fulbright story with students! Explore the Fulbright in the Classroom Toolkit for ideas and inspiration to make the most of your visit.

Tell your story. When you visit the classroom, whether virtually or in person, be sure to introduce both yourself and Fulbright. Share stories and moments from your adventures abroad that surprised you, humbled you, and made you fall in love with your Fulbright country. Be interactive, open, and have fun!

Follow up. After your visit, send a thank you note to your classroom contact using this email template. Then, fill out the Post-Event Summary to let us know about your experience! The Fulbright Association sincerely appreciates your participation and values your feedback to strengthen the Fulbright in the Classroom program.
