Melanie Horton is Senior Marketing Manager at EdTec, a social enterprise that supports charter schools with business, operations, and performance services. She has experience supporting schools with day-to-day operations, marketing and communications, and advocacy. Before joining the education world, Melanie held a variety of positions at Prudential Real Estate Investors Latin America, including Head of Research for Latin America. Earlier in her career, Melanie spent time as an English teacher in Spain and a Fulbright scholar in Mexico, where she worked at New Ventures México on various social entrepreneurship initiatives.
Melanie earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Spanish from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY; a Master of Business Administration from UCLA Anderson; and a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies from the UCLA International Institute. Her passions include Latin American culture and history, multicultural marketing, public education reform, travel, and all things culinary. She resides in Pasadena, California with her husband and son.
