I’ve had 6 Fulbright lectureships and chairs, possibly a record! As a historian of the U.S., I’d always wanted to live abroad and my chance to do so changed my life and career. It yielded 2 books, Not Like Us and Modernist America. For these experiences, I will always be grateful.
