I spent my Fulbright year (1975-1976) at the Zemaljski Muzej (museum) in Sarajevo, Bosnia, doing research for my PhD dissertation in archaeology. Every day I took the morning coffee break with the archaeologists and support staff like the illustrators. In the early new year there was a big snowstorm and all the archaeologists (including me) went out to shovel snow on the museum walkways. I made lifelong friends (even through the war of the 1990s)
