Morisseau-05

This is the second work completed my series titled “Blood Crops”. The
piece focuses on the fact that tobacco is hung to dry and mocks the fact that African Americans
(Men in particular) were hanged nearly with the same casual attitude. It is a tongue in cheek
reference to the old statement “They Shoot Horses, don’t they?”. Which was a nonchalant
attitude in which society dealt with an injured horse.
