Since establishing Cooper Carry in 1960, Jerry Cooper has helped guide the firm to a position of national prominence with offices in Atlanta, Washington, DC and New York City. Under his tenure, Cooper Carry has developed a well-earned reputation for consistency of quality architecture. In 1987, the firm received the American Institute of Architects Silver Medal for Design Excellence (Atlanta Chapter, AIA). During the last 56 years, Cooper Carry has received more than 100 design awards. Individually, Jerry Cooper has received the Rothschild Medal, the highest award granted by the AIA Georgia Chapter, and the Leadership Award, which was given by the AIA Atlanta Chapter in recognition of his professional talent and the Ivan Allen Award for Community Service. He was also recognized by the AIA for his design excellence and long-standing involvement in the profession and was elevated to “Fellow” within the organization. He is currently an active leader in several of the firm’s practices, including Office, Corporate and Government.

Cooper holds Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology. He received a Fulbright Fellowship and studied under the mentorship of Architetto Bruno Zevi, (Hon. FAIA) in Rome, Italy and was a Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome, Italy in 1997. Cooper is registered in 27 states and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Board.
