Global Fashion Identities
Led by Ellen Anders, Fulbright Alum (Canada & Morocco)
Monday, January 11th – 7-8pm

Fashion has been disrupted from the traditional designer oriented system. Today’s fashion world includes more diverse cultures, countries, and nations seeking their own special identity and global recognition. Often, in the past, the concentration has been on fashion as business and did not include the analysis from an anthropological, social science or art perspective. This presentation is meant for the discussion of change and how the fashion/garment world is networking to help solve problems such as gender roles women’s issues, climate change, economic instability and the pandemic. Fashion has an integral part in solving these problems and it is hoped that a diverse conversation will come from this event to elaborate on the issues and possible solutions.
