Aloha fellow Fulbrighters, Colleagues, and Friends!
On behalf of the Fulbright Association Hawaii Chapter, I would like to invite to a reception at the East-West Center Art Gallery on Tuesday, December 5, from 4:00pm-6:00pm. It’s an opportunity to meet current visiting Fulbright Scholars and students, Fulbright alumni, friends of the Fulbright program, EWC staff, and members of the local diplomatic community. For 2023-2023, Hawai’i is currently hosting eight visiting Fulbright Scholars from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Germany, New Zealand, and South Korea, and ten Fulbright graduate students from Australia, Bolivia, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Russia, South Korea, and Taiwan (most at UH Mānoa with one each at Hawaii Pacific University and UH Hilo).
We will be joined by Dr. Annie Reynolds, Exhibitions and Collections Curator at the EWC to learn about the amazing new curated exhibit: “Storyboards of Palau: Artistry, Influence, Impact.”
This in-person event promises to be an unforgettable experience as we gather together in the vibrant atmosphere of the museum and the EWC, enjoy delicious refreshments and engage in stimulating conversations. The reception is the perfect opportunity to connect with others who share your passion for international education and cultural understanding around the world. Guests will also learn about the East-West Center, with welcome remarks from EWC President Suzanne Vares-Lum, and learn how it shares a similar mission to the Fulbright program through people-to-people educational and cultural exchange.
RSVP is required via: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fulbright-association-reception-ewc-art-gallery-tickets-754232017267?aff=oddtdtcreator
Pupu and non-alcoholic drinks will be served. Introductions and a formal welcome to the EWC and the exhibit will start at 5:00pm.
