Fulbright NY Paddleboarding Saturday, July 22
More fun in the sun! Learn to stand-up paddleboard (SUP) – No experience required!
We had such a great turnout the past couple of years with our summer water adventures that we’re planning a second one in July as well. This time, you’ll be joining your fellow Fulbrighters in learning to stand-up paddleboard (SUP)!
Once again, you can expect eye-popping panoramic views of Manhattan’s skyline. In this course, you’ll learn the basics of paddleboarding from equipment to standing on the board in moving water. We’ll be gathering at Resilience Paddle Sports near Hoboken’s Pier 13. Wear water-friendly clothes.
Whether you’re new to the sport or you’ve gone SUP/paddle boarding with the best of them, you are welcome to join!
The lesson will be held in a protected embayment on the the Hudson River with stunning views of Manhattan as the backdrop. As the group progresses, if tides and currents are acceptable, the guide may lead the group out onto the river and into other protected areas for further skills practice.
In this paddleboard course, you’ll also learn about the Hudson River environment and see incredible views of:
- Empire State Building
- The Chrysler Building
- The Manhattan Skyline
- Pier 13 Hoboken
We’ll plan on meeting up at 2pm on Saturday, July 22. The time might change slightly depending on tides and weather, but generally keep 2-4pm open. We’re also scheduling a rain date for Sunday, July 23, so keep your schedule open just in case!
