Join your fellow Fulbrighters for an outdoor adventure
learning to stand-up paddleboard (SUP)!
Sat, Aug 7 (rain date: Aug 8)
Following on the success of our previous outdoor kayaking events, here’s another opportunity to have fun in the sun with fellow Fulbrighters and friends. No experience is required! Get eye-popping panoramic views of Manhattan’s famous skyline while spending time with Fulbright folks. In this course, you’ll learn the basics of paddleboarding from equipment to standing on the board in moving water. We’ll be gathering at Resilience Paddle Sports near Hoboken’s Pier 13. It’s a mix of a good workout, serene environment, and stunning skyline! Wear water-friendly clothes.
Whether you’re new to the sport or you’ve gone paddle boarding with the best of them, you are welcome to join!
The lesson will be held in a protected embayment on the the Hudson River with stunning views of Manhattan as the backdrop. As the group progresses, if tides and currents are acceptable, the guide may lead the group out onto the river and into other protected areas for further skills practice.
On this paddleboard course you can expect incredible views of:
Empire State Building
The Chrysler Building
The Manhattan Skyline
Pier 13 Hoboken
We’ll plan on meeting up at 12pm on Saturday, August 7. The time might change slightly depending on tides and weather, but generally keep 12-3pm open. Afterward, we can grab a drink and some food along the waterfront. We’re also scheduling a rain date for Sunday, August 8 at 12pm, so keep your schedule open just in case!
All are welcome (friends of Fulbright/guests too) but space is limited, so make sure to RSVP!
