DeDe Long has been the Director of Study Abroad and International Exchange at the University of Arkansas since 1994. She supervises 5 full time employees, one graduate assistant, and several student hourly workers. Her activities include the promotion of study abroad at all university events as well as advising and support services for all students considering studying abroad, preparing to study abroad, currently abroad and just returned from abroad. She administers all university-wide exchange programs and most faculty-led study abroad programs. She has responsibility for the coordination of all affiliation agreements with outside program providers and institutional reporting on study abroad enrollment. She also serves as campus adviser (FPA) for the Fulbright Scholarship Program for faculty and students and the Boren National Security Education Program. She has a B.A. from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and a M.Ed. from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She also participated in an academic year abroad at the University of Durham, England. She was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and is married with two children and one grandchild.
