Pat LeMay Burr

Vice President

Dr. Burr holds a Ph.D. in Business and Economics from University of North Texas. Her post-doctoral studies have included International and Area Studies at Yale University, the SCMP Program at Harvard University, and the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan.
Her language and cultural studies have included La Sorbonne in Paris, France, and La Universidad Internacional in Mexico.
She has received Fulbright Awards to Mexico, China, Kuwait, and Vietnam, and has worked in various capacities in more than 30 countries. She is founding and current President of the San Antonio Chapter of the Fulbright Association, and founder and Program Chair of the Southwest Fulbright Symposium.
At UIW, she has served as Dean of the School of Business and Vice President for International Programs. She currently serves as Distinguished Chair at UIW and as Director, Center for International Peace Studies http://www.uiw.edu/peacecenter/index.htm.
She has served as Associate Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Advisory Council, and has worked in two NYSE firms.
She was also joint owner and Chief Operating Office of Specialty Retail Corporation, an international firm with about $50 million in sales.
Pat has served on Boards of The World Trade Institute (NYC), The Walter Heller Institute (Chicago), The San Antonio Humane Society, Goodwill of Texas, YWCA, Hixon Venture Company, KO Steel Venture Company, Republic Bank of San Antonio, The San Antonio Library Foundation, City of San Antonio Industrial Bond Authority, and numerous other organizations. She has chaired the Board of Saint Mary’s Hall School and the World Affairs Council of San Antonio.
Apple Corporation named her in 2013 as an Apple Distinguished Educator for her global work helping universities to integrate technology into the classroom.
