Nancy Neill has been part of the board and executive team at the Fulbright Association for a number of years. She brings to the board a depth of experience in management and communication. Early in her career, she served as a consultant in communication for McKinsey & Company, working with consulting and client teams. She left McKinsey to establish her own firm, the Atlanta Communications Group, LLC, which served NGOs and corporate clients in the United States and abroad for more than 20 years. She and her associates facilitated board discussions of strategy, vision, and values and trained managers in communicating effectively with clients. A former magazine writer, she also served as speechwriter for CEOs and other members of senior management; prepared CEOs for analyst briefings; and wrote articles for clients that appeared in such publications as The Wall Street Journal and Harvard Business Review. In 2010 she co-authored a book on global health published by the University of California Press: Real Collaboration.During these years, she began to connect with the Fulbright Association. While on a Fulbright grant to New Zealand she had traveled throughout the country to interview New Zealand authors and completed a book on the Representation of the Maoris in New Zealand Literature. She returned to the United States to complete a master’s degree in Literature from the University of California. Over the years, the Fulbright experience had stayed with her and when she saw an announcement in Foreign Affairs magazine she contacted the Association. She ultimately became President of the Georgia Chapter, providing leadership in annual diplomatic events, hospitality for visiting Fulbright scholars, and forums for discussion of international issues.Since then she has served as Vice President of the Fulbright Association and Chair of the Fulbright Association Advisory Board. As Vice President of the Fulbright Association she played a role in merging the Fulbright Academy with the Fulbright Association. She also led the Travel Task Force as it launched new mission-driven programs in 2015, including Insight Tours and Service Corps projects. One of those trips, an Insight Tour to Cuba, occurred at a pivotal time when relations between the two countries were improving, and attracted a record number of alumni.
