Harriet Fulbright with Rep. John Sarbanes

Advocacy Month intends to advance Fulbright’s core mission: establishing peaceful societies through cultural and academic exchange worldwide. It has never been more important to develop a strong coalition of alumni and supporters of the program.

Join our alumni-wide advocacy campaign to increase visibility for the Fulbright Effect and educate Congressional officials on how critical this program is. Help us secure our program’s future for another 70 years!

Chapter Visits: Alumni Meet with Local Legislators

It is so important for all Fulbright alumni to share your stories with legislators, community leaders and media on how your Fulbright has changed your life and how it positively impacts your community and people worldwide. Contact your local chapter president or visit your Representative’s District Office!

Training & Toolkit: So Alumni Can Make the Most of Your Visits

We have put together training materials on How to Advocate Effectively for the Fulbright Program covering strategies, talking points and tips on how to effectively educate Congressional officials and their staff on why Fulbright is an important program to continue supporting. Whether you plan to join us for Advocacy Days, participate in Advocacy Month events in your area or meet your Congressman in your local district, we encourage you to download the toolkit or join us for one of our training sessions to make the most of your time.

We need every Fulbrighter to become a visible and vocal advocate for the Fulbright Program – educating legislators and sharing your Fulbright effect story in your communities.
